| About me: | I'm a PhD student at the University of Glasgow studying the outer membrane proteomics of the bacterium Mannhaemia haemolytica, the causative agent of shipping fever in cattle and sheep. I'm originally from London but much prefer living in Scotland. I got my first degree in Microbiology and Infection from the University of Edinburgh, and moved across to Glasgow in September 2007. In my spare time I take capoeira and breakdance classes and I'm also a member of the univeristy mountaineering club. I have a lot to thank the rogues at the SGU for. I discovered their podcast at a pivotal point in my career and it cemented my love and appreciation of all things science. I never realised I was a true skeptic until I listened to the show. Rebecca, if you're ever in Scotland and need a guide/drinking partner, my services are very much available to you. |
