About me: I guess you could say I've been a skeptic since I was 8 or so when I gave up Santa Claus on my own (religion followed a few years later). And I've always craved information and wanted to know how or why everything around me functions. Even so, I'd never really realized skepticism was a movement of any kind until coming across the SGU around episode 80 or so. This is arguably one of the best things I've gotten into in my life, along with rock climbing: extremely entertaining, and good for you! I have some regret now that I got my degree(s) in engineering and not geology or a social science, but I still enjoy working in energy science and exploring issues pertaining to climate change and fossil fuels, which certainly require a skeptical mindset.
