About me: I can probably legitimately say that SGU was pivotal in bringing me to skepticism.  I was dabbling in secular philosophies after I lost my religion and happened upon a page that had audio of Michael Shermer.  One of them happened to be episode 5 of SGU.  This led me to the Skeptic's Society site and found I agreed with their philosophy.

Besides that I'm a computer engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh.  I'm a skeptic, atheist, and libertarian and I've been voraciously consuming information on all those subjects for the past couple years.

I was raised by very moderate catholic parents.  So moderate that I sometimes wonder how much they believe.  I've got a twin brother who has essentially the same worldview that I do so we get along well.  Growing up, my family could best be described as scientifically minded, but rather credulous.  We were just as likely to which Unsolved Mysteries as a documentary on the Dicovery Channel.  My parents, as far as I know, aren't aware of the fact that I'm an atheist, but I can talk rather openly about my skeptical positions on things so I'm not too worried about it.  In the future though, I hope to get more comfortable with speaking out about the issues that are imporant to me.
